HOW IT WORKS

Getting Your CSA Share

  • Share items are pre-determined by our Farmers based on what is ready and most delicious that week, while striving to provide diversity throughout the month.
  • When signing up you will be asked to select your preferred day to pick up. The options are:
    Thursday 1:30-4pm
    Friday from 9-2pm
  • U-pick will also be open these days and times starting July 2nd. Keep in mind that on Fridays we will be opening the U-pick to the public, starting at 10am.
  • Members will receive a specific allotment of U-pick items each week that are included within the price of the share. They will be invited to pick more at cost.
  • You will receive a newsletter from hello@gofarmhand.com on Monday afternoons that will detail what that week’s share will have in it as well as what items and will be available for U-pick free of charge to our CSA members.
  • You will be picking up your vegetable share from inside the garden gates. A Shone Farm Employee will be there to great you and answer any questions you may have, as well as direct you to the u-pick.
  • Each share is packed separately by us and stored in a clean bin, ready for you to re-pack into your reusable Shone Farm Tote Bag. You will receive this bag at your first Pick-up.
  • Through our website you can purchase add-on items to be included in your share pack. All add-on items need to be ordered before 12noon on Wednesday that week.
  • Our Farm-Stand will be Open on Fridays from 9-12pm where Add-on items can be purchased day of.

FAQs

Have more questions about Shone Farm's CSA program? Email us any time at shonefarm@santarosa.edu.

How does weekly ordering & pickup work?

We'll text/email you each week before we harvest, and you'll have until that week's cutoff time (Wednesday at 12pm) to add extras to your order. We'll send you another reminder on pickup day!

We are located at 7450 Steve Olson Lane in Forestville, CA. Upon arrival, please follow the signs to the Student Parking Lot—no permit is required, and you may park in any available space. From there, walk through the garden gate nearest the greenhouses. Your pickup will be directly across from the greenhouses at our Post Production Facility. Head to the north-facing roll-up door, where one of our student interns will be there to welcome you.

Please bring your own bag when picking up your produce. At your first pickup, you’ll receive a complimentary Shone Farm bag to use throughout the season. Beginning in early July, CSA members will also enjoy Friday U-pick coupons as part of their share.

For the safety of our farm operations and livestock, we kindly remind guests that while working dogs are present in certain areas, outside dogs are not permitted on the farm. Service animals are always welcome.

What happens if I go on vacation/need to skip a week?

You are welcome to send a friend or family member to pickup in your place. Alternatively, we can donate your share to students in need.

Can I add-on extras?

Yes! CSA members can add on extras like our farm-made olive oil, pasture-raised meats, and other value-added products each week through the add-on shop.

When does the season start/end?

Our season runs from June 11th- Nov 20th. Note there is NO CSA the week Oct 8th/9th.
